SAHSHA goes to a friend's house!

Last night was one of those nights that I was so tired of that routine of coming home, playing with the puppy, picking newspapers, picking up poop, wondering why the house is a mess. expecting to have a really enjoyable time and ending up disappointed because the pup won't heed to my expectations.
SO ROTTEN! SO SPOILED!
Doesn't even want to walk, wants to be picked up and carried all around the place!
She wimpers and whines and I just keep on walking, but her Daddy of course saves her and picks her up and loves on her. Her Daddy will always save her.
We decide to see how she'll do in her carrying crate.
WHOA!
Those first 15 min were wild. We actually rethought the idea of bringing her to Natchez. Then she calmed down after I sat in the back with her.
She had a BALL at Roy and Amanda's!! They had a big yard that was a FOREST to her! She ran herself silly for an hour or two and sat in the middle of all of us and fell asleep.
So damn cute!
Cypress the cat was checking her out, Sahsha however was not interested in making feline friends. We'll have to try it again soon.

SAHSHA GOES TO THE MAILBOX!

Sahsha and I took an excursion yesterday to the mailbox! Last time it was quite a traumatic experience for her but yesterday it was quite FUN! She walked with me for a little while until a little Chinese man passed by and said, "Hey puppy!" And Sahsha started to following him! I kept calling her and she was just off and running! The man was like, "Wanna come home with me little girl?? Come on!" LOL! She just loves the company of man! Little slut!
Then we go to the mailbox and there's these three little girls.. one of them is so excited to see the puppy she just screams and Sahsha tries to run off into the parking lot.
(Thank goodness we bought a leash for her today!! It's pink!)
Anyways the little girls picked her up petted her, played with her, hugged her.. and Sahsha was just as happy as she could be. So we're on our way home and we meet another neighbor! Man! We've been living in that apartment complex for about three years and Sahsha has more friends than us! Crazy!!! There's this really big guy working on something next to his car and starts talking to me and wanted to know all about Sahsha. He was surprised about the Shih-Tzu / Chihuauha mix and told me not to hit her just make a loud noise that scares her and that'll keep her straight. That's what Steve keeps telling me too.
Sometimes I just lose my temper though!
This is excellent training when it comes time for babies. Steve will have to learn that he can sleep when he gets old! And I will have to learn gentleness and patience and how to do things with love.
I have a spray bottle when she starts acting up though.

Poor Sahsha we didn't put any food for her out last night so she woke up really hungry.
We are taking her on a trip to Natchez, MS this weekend. We bought one of those pop up carriers things and I think it'll work GREAT!
Dad is going to love her!
Can't wait to see how she does on a 6 hour trip in the car.
Will be HILARIOUS!

Sahsha's Belly
Sahsha does the cutest thing now! She rolls over on her back and lets us rub on her belly. It's SOOOOOOO cute!!!!

She was so scared of the thunderstorm last night. She woke us up at 3AM! Goodness!

CHALLENGING
The past couple days with Sahsha have been very challenging. I have really learned how to use my voice and make it real loud. I even scared myself last night.
I had to get onto her and discipline her about the "no bite" factor and then lock her up. It hurt me a lot.. but... hopefully she knows it's for her own good.
I came home later on that day and she was so happy to see me. Like nothing ever happened and she layed on my lap and it was so perfect. She's such a cutie!
I am just falling in love with her.

I STEPPED ON THE PUPPY!!!
Oh my gosh you guys!
I did something terrible yesterday.
I wasn't looking where I was stepping and I stepped on the puppy!
OH MY GOODNESS!
I think my shrieking made the dog even more angry.
She was sleeping and just ran around crazy.
I think she hates me now;
She played for a little while with me and then got all riled up and hyper active. I just left her alone for awhile.
::SIGH:::

This weekend with Sahsha was so fun!

We had a blast.
She can really tire you out.
She's such a cutie though!
She just makes us laugh and laugh
She didn't wake us up last night with her crying or whimpering. Steve
figured out she was just hungry and we need to keep her bowl full of
food. We need to feed her more, she's WAY TOO SKINNY!
She sleeps most of the day and then gets a burst of energy and plays.
Quite aggressive at times with her playing. Need to get her socialized more to other puppies or dogs.
She does NOT like the outside world.
LOL!
She gets real scared if we go too far from home.
I took her to our park in our apartment complex.. I think I've traumatized her.
She was just not pleased at all.
She still craps on the carpet but pees on the puppy training pads.
Hilarious.

She's really adjusting well to her new home!

Our little Sahsha was SOOOOO playful yesterday!
She had the most energy I've ever seen! She just ran and ran around in circles! It was hilarious!
She's got some SPUNK! Her little growls are so cute!
Oh! and she barks! She's so cute!
Steve got me some cassettes to videotape these wonderful moments! I'm so pleased with that. Soon, she'll be all grown up!
I just love her!
This experience has really turned our relationship around.
Steve and I now have one common thing we both love, one common goal. We are both using our talents and skills to train and love Sahsha! It's amazing. He says I have good "mommy" instincts.
Sahsha has really brought out the gentler, softer, more loving side of Steve. It's nice.

::sigh::

Last night's excursions:

Me: I want to play with the puppy.
Steve: She's sleeping right now.
Me: But I want to play with her.
Steve: She needs her sleep, she's just a baby. She's adjusting to her new home.
Me: Hmpth!

A couple hours later, after we've been to the gym and I'm tired:

Steve: Hey baby! Sahsha's playing now. Come!
Me: (annoyed) I'm not in the playing mood anymore.
Steve: Well honey, she doesn't go by our time. We have to adjust to others sometimes.
Me: Hmpth!

She's so CUTE!
Last night was SO fun with Sahsha.
She's really learning how to run better and responding more to her name.
Still peeing on the carpet!
She went through a period yesterday of play and sleep.
Didn't eat much till later in the afternoon.
Then last night she got a burst of energy and Steve and I got down on the floor and played with her for like an hour. Then she went over to the side of the room and passed out. Hilarious!
Since I we both had to go to work today and leave her all by herself, I bought a babygate and set her up in the kitchen. Her bed and everything. It looks like she slept through the night cause I never woke up to her whimpering and crying.
I got up early to play with her and she was already up looking around.
She's funny!
Still loves them feet.
Sharp nails.
Gotta get to Petco and get someone to cut them for us.
Oh! I need a little kennel to put her in so we can easily transport her.
::::Sigh:::
I sitting here at work and thinking about her. Hope she's okay. Hope she doesn't cry too much when she realizes no one is there.

The first night
The first night with our new puppy was... wow!
It was quite interesting. Poor Steve got up with her every two hours and played with her and calmed her down. Then it was my turn early in the morning. She was very playful. We actually bonded I think. She liked to play with feet. She seems amazed at these strange looking objects with little pugs protruding. She stares and then charges at them. It's hilarious!
Then she went back to sleep.
She ate well and drank a little. Still pees on the carpet.
Trying to train her to go on the paper.
I had to do groceries, I asked Steve to come with me and he looked so pitiful when he said, "someone has to stay with the baby". I just laughed.
We don't have a baby gate for her yet. We'll just barricade the kitchen with random furniture until we get one.
Steve got a flat tire so we had to leave her by herself for a little while today in our bathroom. I came back and went to get her and she was crouched in the corner all shivering! I felt so bad. Poor little thing!
Oh Lemme show you pictures!

We got a PUPPY!

Hi my name is Star! Meet my husband Steve. We've been married for 2 years.
Today we got a puppy!
This is a BRAND NEW addition to our family!
I've never had an animal and Steve has only had big dogs growing up. We got a shih tzu mix with something. She's so darling! She looks like a little black lab. She's got white spots on her chest.
When we woke up we were very excited commenting on "we're going to be parents soon". In the car on our way to meet our friend, I thought, this is what people adopting children may feel like. It's a nervous fun type excitement.
I held her in the backseat and she was quite calm. She yawned a couple times. I got excited when she licked my hand! I never had that before! AMAZING! I was kinda scared of her nails/paws but they're okay;
We stopped at Petco to get some food for her and then we let her roam around the living room and kitchen. She peed twice on the rug and we laughed. Then Kristen came over to see her and was like, "Where's she gonna sleep. She needs a doggie bed not just this comforter" So I went off to Walmart and they had pet beds for 9.98! Woohoo! We had an early morning of errands, of running around and stuff and I hadn't showered yet and walking around Walmart made me feel like those frazzled crazy looney moms who can't tell left from right. So many things to think about so many things to do so damn little time!
I came back and the puppy, Sahsha was on the couch and just playing around. Great! she's not sleeping we can play with her.. but then she got tired again and went to sleep. Always sleeping. Do they do anything else!?
Steve wants me to go grocery shopping and I'm like, "Do you know how much I've done TODAY?! How much running around I've done! Goodness! I said why doesn't he go and he looked at me and smiled and said, "I never want to leave the house again." He's such a riot! Already in love with the thing and all it does is sleep! He said he doesn't want to go to work or anything.. LOL! Cracks me up.
Maybe if I shower and rest a bit I'll feel like doing groceries.
Can you believe "I" of all people have a puppy?
