Bad weekend for Sahsha.

When Sahsha gets scared; she hides under the table.
She's so cute!!!!

Since we haven't taken her outside in a long time with the rain and everything she was quite agitated yesterday.
She tee teed on the floor, I spanked her and sent her to the kitchen locked up. Then I guess she was trying to sleep and I was petting her and she nipped me. Spanked her again, in the kitchen again. She had such a bad weekend. Always getting into trouble.. poor little baby. I took her to play and run at the school and she was sooo damn happy! She didn't know what to do with herself!!! She ran and ran and couldn't stop! So funny.l I brought her back home and she was passed out on the floor within 5 minutes.
That's all she needed.. was to use up all her pent up energy; She just wasn't jiggy with sitting on the bed watching a movie with her momma.

Time for Kennel Training

Sahsha SAHSHA SahSHA!
My goodness girl!
Do you know what she's been doing?! We leave the pantry door open a tad and Sahsha gets into some MESS! First thing that Steve was telling me was he stopped home one day and had the Cracker Barrell paper bag handles over her head! I wished I had been there! Total picture moment!
So yesterday, I came home and there was torn up little bits of paper towels ALL OVER THE PLACE! It looked like a hurricane came through!!! Oh my goodness!! AND CHECK THIS OUT! This isn't the first time it's happened. Steve has been cleaning up all her mess before I get home and covers it up because he's scared of whatever crazy tactic I'll come up with!!
LOL!
Oh my goodness!
The first thing I thought was she just needs to be kennel trained and when we're gone, she she'll be in the kennel and just deal with it.
But Steve feels this is cruel and unusual punishment.
We'll see.. It won't be so bad.

Sahsha goes the Jazz Concert

I took Sahsha to the free Jazz Concert at Market Street.
I met up with Kristen and we had so much fun. Sahsha was just everywhere! Running up to everyone playing with everything. The loud drums scared her though.
It takes so much coordination to watch her, keep her out of trouble, feed her, make sure she went potty... My goodness! I have to have like another pair of arms and eyes in the back of my head to keep up with her! How do people with children do it!! WOW!
She was just a handful. She is finally is big enough with fit into the spiked red leather collar and the police officers kept calling her a "killa beast"! It was hilarious!!! She's so cute! Why didn't I bring my camera! I'm so crazy.

Carrying her in her little purse on my bad shoulder was a TERRIBLE idea! My shoulder has started to hurt again. I had to drive with one hand! I have a torn up rotator cuff from a slip on a patch of ice 6 years ago in Virginia. I'm probably gonna have to start physical therapy again. Ugh!! I should have known better.

She got a little nippy and after 2 hours; She must have been really hungry or super tired. I didn't really feed her much before I left. I took her home and she just chowed down like she hadn't eaten in DAYS! Poor baby! It was an excellent opportunity to give her Frontline Heartworm thing though. At that point she would eat anything!!!!
She was so TIRED though. She just plopped in her little kennel and was out!
Next time I need to bring her food so she can keep up with all of us.

Sahsha and her gumballs!

Sahsha was cooped up most of the day since we had small group last night; We came home and I took her to the high school to run around crazy and use up her energy well. Then we went home and I didn't realize she had one of those sticky balls in her mouth. It might have some type of sugary syrupy stuff on it so when she got home she just went absolutely wild and CRAZY!! WILD! I never seen anything run so fast in my life! She's hilarious! She was not pleased when we put her in the kitchen and gated her up.. Whining.. poor little baby. This morning I worked with her and tried to teach her "lay down".. She is so HARDHEADED! She'll get tired on me and then finally plop down and I'll give her a treat and say, "good lay down" but I'm not sure it's sticking.

Vet - 2nd round of shots

Sahsha got her 2nd round of shots yesterday.
I think she remembered what was coming so she growled at the vet and she tried to bite the technician! I haven't seen that aggressive behavior in her in a LONG time! The vet told us we really need to be more in control of her and some training methods we need to do with her for a little while. And.. since she has SO many toys, she thinks everything on the floor is a plaything... hence why she eats shoes, paper, anything laying on the floor.
So we have to work on that.
Phew! I'm glad we get to start working on her behavior and discipline her a lot more! Steve is always on my butt about "letting her be a puppy". Now he sees why I was so hard on her in the beginning and why I didn't like her playing, growling aggressively at the toys. Maybe now he'll support me when I discipline her; It'll be a little bit harder now since she's so used to having her own way and doing her own thing;
She came home from the vet and she seemed fine and then Steve took her out for a walk and she came home crying in pain! It's the most horrible sound EVER! She didn't want to be picked up... her hind legs must be very tender. I knew she was tired and needed sleep; I wanted to put her in the bathroom and shut the lights and the door to leave her in peace but Steve wanted her with us so after a about 15 minutes Steve realized how badly she needed rest so we put her in the bathroom.
Then I had separation anxiety and couldn't stand not being able to see her so I went in to check on her;
We moved her to the kitchen were she could eat if she wanted and had a place to relieve herself; I stayed with her for awhile until she fell asleep.
Poor little baby.
She woke up this morning ready to go out and tee-tee and poopies. She did fine... I was stern and had to tell her a couple times not to jump or run. I knew that would aggravate her the areas she got shot in.
Steve said she was doing fine this morning when he put her up.
She is now 8.2 lbs!
WOW!
Heartbeat is 150 bpms
Just an overall healthy girl!

Concert in the Park

Sahsha and I went to see the Concert in the Park with Kristen and her boys and we had a BLAST!
It was so fun and relaxing!

Sahsha had been cooped up most of the time since Steve and I had lots of running around to do.

Sahsha had a wonderful time of course and made lots of friends!
She's still scared of the other puppies though. Maybe next weekend when we go she'll do better.

Weekend - just the girls!

My little baby has gotten so big.
Last Sunday, June 4th, she turned three months old. My goodness... where does the time go?
Wow.
Sahsha and I had a lovely weekend together just us girls. Her Daddy went tubing at San Marcos for the weekend with his friends. We walked, we played, we sat and watched TV and everything.
I had to leave her alone a couple times but she seemed ok.
I took her over to Kristen's place and her and Bella played well together but I accidently let Bella out so we had to go find her. Kristen's neighbor was there so she took her puppies out too. She had two Jack Russel Terriers and they were VICIOUS! My goodness. Just as bad as those pomperanians I see at the park. Oh! Poor Sahsha. I had to pick her up most of the time. Then once we found Bella I let Sahsha down just to see what she'd do and she went after those little pit bull wannabees!! I was so surprised. So proud of her for not letting them nasty dogs scare her.
Steve and I were watching Mr & Mrs Smith and Sahsha was sitting next to me trying to go to sleep. That movie is way too loud so of course she couldn't sleep and Steve wouldn't let me lock her up in the bathroom where it was quiet because then she wouldn't sleep all night.
Then later she was holding her head up and it was like she was a bobble head doll and Steve started making fun of her and I laughed so HARD tears were coming out of my eyes!!
Oh my goodness!!
Steve is so hilarious sometimes.
The poor baby was so tired she couldn't hold her head up. I finally just put her in the bathroom and cut the lights and put her in her head so she could get some peace.
Goodness!
This morning I took her out and she did potty. It took her way too long to do number 2 because by the time I got out of the shower, I only had 5 minutes to get ready!
Either I start doing my hair at night or wake up earlier to take her out. She might enjoy a nice walk in the mornings.

Sahsha can come with me everywhere now!

I went to Walmart last night and saw the CUTEST pet carriers!
I got a maroon colored one and it says, HAUTE DOG. So FUNNY. It even has a purse charm that says that. So funny.
Now Sahsha goes EVERYWHERE with me... yippee!!!
I can't wait to take her out in it to see what she'll do.

Coming Home

Sahsha is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny! I come home and there she is waiting for me just wagging her tail like crazy! Then the screen door opens and she just jumps and jumps on me till I pick her up.
She stinkin' cute!
I think she might not have slept at all the night before. She was running around in circles and once I got her outside, I couldn't even take her off the leash.. she went CRAZY just running running crazy! She's so fast and it was so dark that I was scared if I took her off the leash she would just run off somewhere and I wouldn't be able to find her.
Goodness!
I think because she didn't sleep she might have had a lot of anxiety.
Stupid people upstairs decided to move in the middle of the night and I'm sure all those noises kept the poor baby up.
I kept her in our room last night so she would calm down and get some rest.
I think it helped.
We'll see tonight.
She's so sweet. I love when it's just us on the couch and she's gnawing on her bone and I'm watching TV and it's just our time together.

Check out the new pics on the slideshow

I posted some new pictures on the slideshow! Hope you like them!
Our experiment is working! Sahsha has definitely helped me open up my feelings box. After a couple loving tender moments, I can really say that I am feeling things again; I know some things and places and people are not safe, but I accept it and risk it instead of shutting down as I have done for the last 11 years. It's so wonderful to really live again. Really live a real life and not in my head. I will be forever grateful to Sahsha for opening up my heart again. She gives love so easily. I am amazed every time she comes to me and plays with me and shows me she loves me. Simply amazed. I cannot fathom why she would love me, but she does. Absolutely amazing. I think of her all the time. At work, I'll just burst out laughing thinking of the crazy things she does and driving home, I just can't wait to see her and pick her up and play with her.
Wow! This puppy has truly changed a lot about me. My whole outlook is different. Just can't believe it.

:-(

I was taking Sahsha out for her walk yesterday and I picked her up to cross the street. She was irritated cause she wanted to walk so once I got to the sidewalk, I was trying to put her down but she squirmed around and fell flat! Oh my GOD! I felt so bad!
I sat on the sidewalk checking her out loving on her and giving her treats until she looked like she was happy again.
When she fell, she stopped for a second, got up and started to walk again and when i called her to me, the look on her sad little face just broke my heart!
Oh my gosh!

AAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

I had my first accident last night.
I was playing with a toy and trying to make her come get it and when she grabbed it with her mouth I still had it and pulled it away and I got a wicked gash on my finger. When I realized what happened and saw the blood pouring out, I just SCREAMED! Steve thought it was the TV since he was watching the Stephen King movie and then after a couple seconds he realized it was me and came running in. It was too funny. He was bandaging me up and he was like, "I'm not used to this at all! Usually other people are bandanging me up!" He couldn't find the butterfly bandaids ointment and exclaimed, " I need a better triage unit!" this is just not gonna work! He just cracks me up!!
Sahsha did feel bad she came over and licked on my finger..she knew I was hurt. It wasn't her fault.
That was my one fear of being bitten by the pup, but now that's it happened and over, I realized that I have nothing to fear with her.
So it was a good experience.
My finger is fine.. just a little numb and tingly;

I have the best husband in the WORLD!

I just LOVE watching Steve with Sahsha! He's so gentle and kind and sweet and loving! He's so awesome. Makes me fall in love with him all over again.
I have the best husband in the WORLD!

Sahsha is so calm when it's just me and her. We play, she hangs out with me, and just watches TV, we go out for walks, she takes care of business, and everything is nice and happy.. then Steve walks into the room and she's just as hyper as she can be, jumping, crazy, wild! She is so funny.
She loses all focus and I just can't calm her down. It's hilarious.

This weekend

Sahsha was so loving and playful this morning!
She's such a cutie!
She even went potty outside too!
She's so awesome! I gotta remember to bring her treats outside when she does go potty outside so I can reward her immediately.

She had a fun weekend. Todd & Kimberly came over and met her and thought she was so cute.
Todd was hilarious!!! Sahsha even showed off her tricks for them.
She had her nails done on Sat morning; I brought her to Petco and she's a total GUY MAGNET! Why didn't I know about this when I was single!
She cried and yelped when the girl clipped her nails... but she didn't bite. AMAZING.
She bites me when I clip them.
I guess I need the small clippers like the girl at Petco has. The sound of the big one probably scares her more than anything.
I got a bunch of movies from the library on puppy training.
Some were made in the 70s and they're hilarious with the clothes and hairdos! Steve and I had more fun cracking up than anything!
Steve is giving Sahsha her bath tonight.. Thank goodness!

Come get your daughter!

I went out the back door to take out the garbage and Steve was at the front door having a cigarette. Guess who comes trotting along with me and won't go back inside?
Oh dear.. finally.. I had to call Steve and he came around the back and I said, "Come get your daughter!"
He laughed and called her and there she goes running after her daddy.

Sahsha actually understands SIT, STAY and GO GET IT!

Sahsha actually understands SIT, STAY and GO GET IT!
I think she's the smartest dog in the whole wide world!
She can also now jump up and give you 5! But she doesn't really know the command yet, You just have to hold up your hands.
She's getting so big! So long.
She gets these muscle spasms every so often. Probably the "antibodies" from her shots last week. Or maybe growing pains.Then we had to give her some type of heartgard pill and she throws up once in a while... poor little baby.
Gotta clip those nails again. Man they grow FAST!
I managed to clip a couple yesterday.
I tried to use the electric filer... she hears that thing and she is just off and running! It's hilarious!
I found something else to keep her straight, an air duster! She sees that and she just runs! It's so funny!!!!!
I don't know why I like to torment that baby!
Yesterday I took her to the mailbox. Funny. It used to take 5 minutes to get the mail, now it takes a half hour! Everyone stops and plays with her. No one says hi to me, they just play with Sahsha. Hmpth!
She just loves a man's company. If a man that walks by and doesn't say anything to her, she stops, turns around and starts following them.... it's like she's saying, "Hey MISTER! Don't you see how cute I am! Don't you want to pet me! Hey Mister! Come back here!"
Too damn funny!

The "TALK"...

OH !
I forgot to tell you...
Steve had a "talk" with me about the way I manage the puppy.
This was in the car after we brought her to the vet:
Steve said that I've been doing really good lately with Sahsha.. but... every once in awhile.. just let her be a puppy. Not every word out of my mouth needs to be "No" or "Stop". She's just a puppy and she'll get in mischief and she'll eat your favorite shoe and she'll tear up the house once in awhile;
He was so sweet.
So loving, so tender.
I felt so bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
YESTERDAY while taking her on her walk a BIG dog came from out of nowhere and wanted to play with her. Sahsha of course didn't see it that way and started to cry. I got the door opened and let her in the house and Steve picked her up. I had to tell the big dog to go home but he wouldn't! Then his owner came and we all laughed about it. She's not used to other animals yet;
She's so traumatized about the outside now.
She's getting braver and braver though.
There was a terrible thunderstorm last night and I didn't hear Sahsha once.
Maybe she's used to them by now?
Maybe because we don't respond to her cries or her barking she knows now not to do it?
Noooo... she cries when she thinks she's in danger. Hmmmm...
Sahsha goes to the vet!
Saturday morning at 8:45am, Sahsha got an appointment with Aldine Animal Hospital for her first shots. It was a dreary rainy morning.
Poor little baby. She got prodded and poked everywhere.She got the big needle and you woulda thought someone was killing her. Poor thing. The vet was really awesome though. He gave us a lot of information and tips on taking care of her.
We were very pleased with the facility. It only costs us $60 for her shots.
The technicians were very smart and caring. It was a very good experience and Sahsha did surprisingly well.
She now knows the commands of sit and stay! I never taught her stay but she knows what to do! Isn't that amazing!? And when she chews on her bone, she holds it with her paws to get better control. AMAZING! She understands fetch and give or out. She's the smartest freaking dog in the whole world!
